- Camphor – improves blood circulation on the scalp. This promotes hair growth and provides a better supply of nutrients to the hair roots. Camphor is an excellent detoxifier for the scalp. The scraping action decongests the scalp and increases blood circulation. Healthy nutrients, which are transported further with the blood, promote hair growth.
- Menthol – has antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and vasodilatory effects (i.e., it causes temporary dilation of blood vessels, which promotes blood flow). This last property makes menthol particularly beneficial for hair care, as increased blood flow to the scalp can help nourish hair follicles and improve the health of future hair growth. A healthy scalp also means less skin irritation and less itching or dandruff….
- Glycolic Acid – penetrates the cuticle layer of the hair shaft, similar to water, and improves the smoothness, protection and manageability of healthy and chemically damaged hair. Unlike water, the exfoliating effect of glycolic acid removes dead skin cells, products, sweat, sebum and other impurities. This deep cleansing increases cell turnover and improves the absorption of other products.
